Busch, Field Marshal Ernest, 1885-1945

Busch was one of HITLER’s many Field Marshals whose main talent was his subservience to his master. He was Commander of the Sixteenth Army which would have taken part in Operation Sealion had it been implemented. He was then given command of Army Group Center on the Eastern Front from October 1943 to June 1944 but was replaced by MODEL shortly before the collapse and destruction of that Army Group in the Belorussian Campaign. Busch was then appointed Commander in Chief Northwest, stationed in Norway, where he remained until he surrendered with his troops in April 1945.
