Rado was the resident director of a Soviet intelligence network in Switzerland during World War II. He was a professional scientist and worked as a cartographer for a press agency. He recruited ROSSELER to his network and provided first-class military information to the USSR. In October 1943 the Swiss began to pick up members of his group and he panicked and fled to Paris. He re-emerged at the end of the war and was extradited by Moscow from Egypt as Soviet intelligence wanted to question him about his misuse of funds.
